Our US$85M Horticulture Investment Pitch at AFSIC– 13 – 17 Oct 2025

Zimbabwe’s horticulture industry took the spotlight at this year’s AFSIC – Investing in Africa conference in London. HDC partnered with the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) and CICADA to present a pipeline of high-impact, climate-smart investment opportunities.

The delegation promoted innovative financing options such as green bonds, carbon offtake agreements, and results-based climate finance partnerships—all designed to scale up verified horticultural investments while promoting environmental sustainability.

Alongside these green initiatives, our team unveiled a portfolio of bankable commercial projects. Key ventures include:

CICADA Horticulture Growth Slate (US$40M)

The investment expands high-value export crops while embedding climate-smart practices.

BioChar Carbon Asset (US$0.14M)

Cicada Carbon (US$30M)

A climate solutions arm developing clean cooking, forest conservation, and carbon finance projects.

Regenerative Agriculture Carbon Asset (US$0.1M)

This asset transforms Zimbabwe’s farming systems into climate-resilient, carbon-capturing production zones.

Goromonzi Agro-Processing Industrial Park (US$37M)

Kuminda Smallholder Export Hub & Blueberry Expansion (US$11M)

This hub creates Zimbabwe’s first integrated smallholder export platform. The project drives inclusive growth while scaling a high-margin export commodity.

This agro-processing venture targets next-generation processing for horticulture and staple crops.

Mossfield Crop Production Farming Venture (US$10M)

Mossfield Farms seeks to expand irrigation, increase cultivation, and develop high-value citrus orchards.

Zimbabwe Coffee Mill – Specialty Export Expansion (US$18M)

This investment expands ZCM’s processing and export capacity to revive Zimbabwe’s historic specialty coffee sector. It integrates farmers into premium markets and scales world-class milling capacity.

Zimbabwe Blueberry Sector Opportunity (US$100M)

Driving blueberry expansion from 2025–2028, growing production to 30,000 tonnes at peak output.

Together, these ventures signal Zimbabwe’s readiness to attract investors seeking new opportunities. Special thanks to all our partners, including the FCDO through the UK Embassy in Zimbabwe, for making all this possible.
